Gugulethu Sophie Mbatha - better known as Gugu is a British stage actress and film actor. Gugu gained notoriety after appearing on the BBC's Doctor Who', a British science-fiction television show. This show aired between 2002 and 2005. The handler then began appearing in several other shows like Weekends at the D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler has also worked as a correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler gained notoriety in 2006 by hosting her own E! show. called The Chelsea Handler Show. The Chelsea Handler Show lasted two years. In the following year, Handler performed on the Comedy Central's Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour in the United States. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have shown her stand-up performances live. In 2010 it was revealed that she was going to host for the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. She became only the second woman ever to host the VMAs, after Roseanne Bar.
